In Partnership with Meta, Paradise Mobile is Launching a Cloud-Native Communications Service Provider
Paradise Mobile, a newcomer to the mobile network sector in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, is committed to delivering value to these communities through cutting-edge 5G technology. “We are making significant investments in advanced innovation, specifically exploring the full potential of 5G,” explains Nico Gonzalez, Chief Digital Officer of Paradise Mobile. The company aims to transform the Cayman Islands and Bermuda into technology hubs—not just by providing 5G but also by offering a dedicated platform for developers.
As a native technology company, Paradise Mobile’s culture revolves around experimentation, decentralized decision-making, trust, and transparency. When searching for a technology partner, Paradise Mobile prioritized a company that could offer a modern approach, from integration to customer service. Meta was the perfect match due to its cultural compatibility, and the partnership began in early 2023, leveraging Meta’s expertise in flexibility, agility, and responsiveness. “The alignment in mindset and shared culture is of utmost importance when selecting partners. We vigorously protect our culture,” emphasizes Gonzalez.
Culture plays a fundamental role in the success of the partnership. “So, we needed to bring the mindset that our team must be good enough to adapt to their culture, to work within it. They allowed us to collaborate with them because we offer the flexibility needed to implement services, provide personnel, and assist them in building what they need to launch the company,” says Andre Saar, Sales Executive at Meta. True innovation requires a commitment to adaptability, and Meta has demonstrated its ability to adjust to the conditions of an evolving market throughout the process. “You have to really look at the market, observe trends, and adapt your company at a very fast pace,” explains Saar.
A unique challenge in this project is the use of Open RAN solutions to achieve the flexibility needed to keep pace with rapidly evolving cloud technologies in the telecommunications sector while integrating with the entire innovation ecosystem. Meta understood Paradise Mobile’s vision and provided its best resources to support the project. “In markets like this, Meta has focused on delivering fully functional cross-disciplinary pods for agile execution. This is great because members of these pods have not only strong full-stack development skills but also deep knowledge of agile principles, making collaboration incredibly smooth,” Gonzalez highlights.
The partnership between Paradise Mobile and Meta takes a flexible approach, allowing for quick adaptation to evolving processes without disrupting progress. Meta provides an Agile Squad ready to support Paradise Mobile’s development, business strategy, and design needs. Priorities shift based on the telecom’s current focus, and Meta adapts accordingly.
In September 2023, Paradise Mobile executives visited Brazil to meet the team in person, as much of the collaboration happens remotely. “We took the opportunity to gather as a team in Brazil, dedicating an entire week to finding solutions for some of the most complex challenges that require face-to-face interaction. More importantly, it allowed us to get to know the people we see every day in small squares on our screens,” says Gonzalez.
