Meta: Commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, and Pay Transparency
A Legacy of Growth and Innovation
Meta, a Brazilian technology and innovation company, has been in the market for 34 years, driven by its purpose of fostering human growth through technology. With record growth for three consecutive years (2019-2021) and consistent recognition as a Great Place to Work over the last five years, we take pride in our ongoing journey of growth, transformation, and evolution alongside our Meta Team—the name we give to our 3,000 employees worldwide.
Advancing Diversity and Inclusion
Recognizing the need to foster a more diverse and inclusive workplace, we have invested in several initiatives in recent years to enhance our work environment for everyone. In 2022, we launched Meta Plural, a program that celebrates diversity within the Meta Team, promotes multiculturalism, equity, and inclusion, and recognizes the uniqueness of every individual. Meta Plural fosters creativity and innovation through diverse perspectives, knowledge, and skills, while reinforcing Meta’s commitment to excellence, ethics, and social responsibility.
This program supports key initiatives such as Meta League, the Trainee Program, Women in Tech, and the Inclusion Program for People with Disabilities. Below are some of our latest efforts to promote diversity and inclusion:
Inclusion Program for People with Disabilities
Our People with Disabilities Inclusion Program is designed to build a culture of diversity by identifying, hiring, and training individuals, integrating them into an inclusive journey. Some of our key initiatives include:
- Awareness workshops for the entire Meta Team
- Training for our Talent Acquisition team
- A tech training program for people with disabilities, in partnership with #TeuFuturo, which has already trained over 100 individuals
- Review of hiring, onboarding, and employee support processes
- Ongoing support for leaders managing employees with disabilities
- Support networks and affinity groups
Multigenerational Workforce
At Meta, we value talents of all ages and have designed specific programs to attract individuals at different life and career stages, from students to seniors. These programs include:
- Meta League: An acceleration program for students seeking a career in technology at Meta. Currently, it includes 100+ Leaguers, aged 15 to 73, across Brazil and internationally.
- Young Apprentice Program: An initiative that provides job opportunities and professional training for young individuals starting their careers. Since its launch, we have helped 120+ young professionals enter the workforce across multiple states in Brazil.
Embracing Multiculturalism
We recognize that a diverse blend of cultures, values, and customs fuels innovation and creativity at every stage of our journey. That’s why multiculturalism is ingrained in our DNA. With 3,000 employees across 14 countries and 350+ cities worldwide, our workforce represents a wide array of nationalities, ethnicities, genders, and abilities. Despite these differences, we share a common purpose: to promote human growth through technology.
Women in Tech
The Women in Tech program has been a core initiative at Meta since 2021, driving gender equity through numerous internal and external actions. We are proud of our achievements in 2024, which demonstrate our commitment to closing the gender gap:
- 50% of executive leadership positions are held by women
- 46% of leadership roles are held by women
- 99% pay equity in tech roles between men and women
- Women in Tech Connections: In-person gatherings at Meta offices to foster networking and knowledge exchange among women in our team
- The Next Gen Program: A female entrepreneurship accelerator with 200+ startups led by women and Meta Ventures’ investment of R$1.5 million
These milestones reflect our firm belief that competence has no gender and that affirmative actions are necessary to foster a truly equitable environment. Our dedication to gender equality has been recognized in five Women in Tech awards in 2023, a testament to our impact in Brazil and globally.
Pay Transparency Report – 2022
As part of our commitment to workplace diversity and inclusion, and in compliance with Federal Law No. 14.611/2023, Ordinance MTE No. 3.714, and Decree No. 11.795/2023, we have released the Annual Pay Equity Report for Meta’s registered entities.
The information presented adheres to the General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13.709/2018), ensuring data anonymization. The report follows the Brazilian Classification of Occupations (CBO), which categorizes professions in Brazil but does not compare identical job roles, sometimes leading to distortions. The data is sourced from the Ministry of Labor and Employment, based on 2022 e-Social records.
While the government’s classification does not always align with modern market practices, we reaffirm our commitment to fair and equal pay. In 2024, we are proud to report 99% pay equity in technology roles across Meta. Our dedication to improving salary transparency and equality remains strong, and we are committed to further advancements in this area.
