Argenta, emerging from the repositioning of the former Empresas SIM, has embarked on a new growth phase by adopting SAP S/4HANA, implemented in partnership with Meta. This decision aims to consolidate and expand its operations with greater security and efficiency. The new ERP enhances governance robustness, scalability, and agility for integrating new acquisitions, aligning with the group's continuous innovation and evolving demands.

With New Acquisitions, Argenta Expands and Implements a New ERP in Partnership with Meta to Unify Processes

With accelerated growth in recent years, Empresas SIM, a company in the fuels and lubricants sector, has undergone a market repositioning and is now called Argenta. At this crucial moment in its journey, it has established a strategic partnership with Meta to implement SAP S/4HANA, ensuring scalability, security, and quality of information across all companies that become part of this ecosystem.

Argenta began its history nearly 40 years ago with SIM fuel stations in Rio Grande do Sul. Since 2018, it has been expanding its ecosystem by founding new companies and acquiring others, such as Querodiesel, Charrua, and Aiva, all in the fuel sector. The company found SAP S/4HANA to be the robust and reliable platform needed for this consolidation. “With new people coming in and new processes, we saw the need to have everything in one place. As challenging as it was, the time had come to make this change,” says Bruno Bregoli Soares, Executive Director of Querodiesel.

For Cleidi Soberansky, Director of Technology, Innovation, and Processes at Argenta, the newly implemented SAP already serves as the group’s “strongbox,” ensuring security and fiscal compliance. “Within our companies, we have areas that operate similarly, but we have different fiscal requirements and compliance standards. So today, SAP gives us this security and assurance,” she says.

According to Antonio Praxedes, Chief Financial Officer of Argenta, in addition to bringing security and organization to information, SAP provides the necessary structure for the group to continue growing. “It’s an ERP that allows us to keep expanding and offers system longevity of 10 to 15 years of updates, as it is a platform already well-integrated with new technologies.”

Finding the Ideal Partnership

After selecting the platform to support its growth, Argenta needed to define the ideal partner for implementation. “With significant expansion in recent years and several ongoing developments, we sought a partner who understood our moment. We found that connection with Meta, which turned out to be the ideal partnership for this implementation,” says Bregoli.

Roberto Certo, Business Director at Meta, attributes the success of the partnership to Meta’s genuine interest in Argenta’s demands and processes. “We were truly attentive to the processes, eager to understand the business, and had extensive conversations with both the executive team and the operational team. By understanding the processes, we were able to deliver this security to the group.”

Argenta’s dynamic nature also made SAP S/4HANA with the Rise cloud solution the best fit for the business. “This choice was crucial for us because I can scale quickly, modify processes rapidly, and have the autonomy to monitor any integration, plug in a new business swiftly, and develop a retail solution,” says Cleidi. According to Roberto, SAP S/4HANA simplifies business operations. “It streamlines processes and serves as a pillar of digital transformation for companies.”
